One is somewhat fitted, while the other has a more loose fit. You can make them with cowls, different sleeve designs and vents - just as you like them.
The dresses are designed for sweater knit fabric and you can just as well use the thinner version (or use a cotton jersey) for a summer version as you can choose a cable-knit fabric for a super warm and cozy winter dress.
You can also shorten the pattern to sew warm sweaters!
